Faith held its first service on July 15, 1956, at the Center Theater in downtown Grand Blanc, with 35 in attendance. It was a mission of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Flint, led by vicar Thomas Going. The first full-time pastor, the Rev. John Heins, led the building of the first sanctuary in 1959 at the current location. The current church was built in 1977. When Heins returned to preach the dedication of the newest addition, the congregation named the former sanctuary the Heins Fellowship Hall. A $2.4-million family life center, dedicated in March 1999 contains a full-sized gymnasium for sports activities and a large kitchen. In 1999, an anonymous donor paid for the cross and tower to be rebuilt after roof repairs. Wings on the contemporary brown brick church give it the shape of a cross. The sanctuary seats 400; average attendance is 650.
